We will know in 3 or 4 years whether or not his plan to stay clear of a rebuild was a good idea or not.
I like the draft last year as I thought he got a real good player that should've went in the top 10, but then somehow this year he does the opposite.
Time will tell.
Edit: The NTC/NMC has to end. |

Everybody knows they should have blown up the roster and started the rebuild.
Unfortunately... when they do realize it, their main trade pieces will be too old. |

I'm curious what ownership has said. We saw first hand in Edmonton what happens when an owner tries to run a team. Buffalo saw this last year as well. |

Rather easy on the hate. He should rebuild entirely when he has the chance. I think most people expected when Sutter was sacked that Feaster would come in with a demolitions crew instead of plateau and do nothing. I guess his greatest accomplishment thus far was not being dumb enough to trade their first rounders. |

he should have been "blowing it up" the minute he got there. the team has not made the playoffs either way so who cares if you finish 17th best or last?? he could have got some good assets for a few of players they had and been well on there way. its not like the oilers who had nothing and started from scratch. if he doesnt believe in "blowing it up" he shouldnt have taken the job. the flames fans shouldnt have to watch their team get worse ever year with zero hope of a turn around. |

It is fashionable league wide to bash the Flames.
Even perennial basement dwellers such as the Islanders and Leafs are joining in.
A team picking in the lottery position 3 years straight continues to bash. Why?
Because it deflects off of their inadequacies and like I said, it's fashionable.

If there was ever a time to do it, and a team that should do it... it's the Flames.
Toronto attempted it... but Burke tried to rush the process.

If they make the playoffs the fans will be happy, and if they are out of the playoffs they trade their assets at the deadline and start the rebuild and the fans are happy. The only way fans get really mad is if nothing happens this year and next year starts off exactly the same. |

besides the Regher trade.
I think every other move on that list either upgraded the team in youth or skill, Or resigned a player at a decent value (glenX, Backland, coumeau, Leiland)
Hudler may be something held against him later on, and signing stemper for more then a year (but he earned a decent chance).
But I agree saying Feaster sucks is a hasty decision. I think he did make us close in the Richards chase last year. |

yup. to his credit he had worse then nothing in terms of prospects when he started. he has added a lot of prospects and they now have a great deal of depth coming up. if he could get the team to the playoffs they would then have enough guys coming up to maintain things.

People keep stating that teams should "tank"...who has ever done this and where did this notion come from?
How many GMs can you say took over a team and, "blew things up"....none that I can think of...
There is no one way to build a cup winning team, and Im sure the season ticket holders would be a little, heck a lot, upset if the team became basement dwellers for several years in order to draft high.
Just ask Edmonton. |

Hudler is a decent signing, he will get his points and will be an asset on the PP. Just don't expect any grit from him. |

It seemed like he's been around longer than 2010. I thought he and Burke were along the same lines, but in 2 years there's nothing to panic about, I think the real pressure is do you keep your fan favourites and finish 9th every year? or do you trade them for prospects or picks piss off the fans, rebuild and become a competative team again in 4-5 years. |

Because people want him to rebuild, and Feaster doesn't want to do that, Baertschi is the Flames' best prospect by far. |
